I chose this painting because i loved the way the artist used the colors. He emphasizes them through shadows and shades. Instead of making the main object (the boat) and the background clear, the artist chooses to blend the colors of the sail with the sky and the water to make the painting form into a single form. I also fine the colors very soothing instead of the sharp blue skies and water are usually painted.
