Kevin: MC Escher

MC Escher has been one of my favorite artists for as long as I can remember. I saw an exhibit of his at National Gallery of Art in DC when I was younger and ever since I have been enchanted by his work. I think my love for Escher comes from the his creative use of shapes and his attention to detail. His art is very precise and clean. I also like the sharp contrast that he creates in his black and white images. Maybe it is the mathematician in me that draws me to his work; in 8th grade I had to do a tessellation project in my geometry class and I tried to emulate Escher without much success. Finding a shape that can pass both as a fish and bird is tough!
