I chose Andrea Mantegna, who was a 15th century Venetian Renaissance artist. I think his art is all about space and eluding to another dimension. Here, we have shading and form, with the sheets draping his body with folds to imply shape beneath. Environment around him, and a sense that we are at his feet from the perspective we are given, which also implies space. I was quite intrigued by his work.
