21 - Aubrey Fitzpatrick: T-shirt and postcard

Imust admit, photoshop is incredibly overwhelming, and by no means do I feel like I have done the program justice by my postcard, but it was my first time attempt. I wanted to have "The place where the sidewalk ends" in the upper left hand corner at the top, but I couldn't figure out how to use type on the different layering and stuff so, after trying to figure that out for almost an hour, I figured someone could show me in class. I think I chose to do this postcard because for me it plays between the author and his work. To see Shel Silverstein existing in his own image that he has drawn is amusing to me. I guess you could either call this a postcard or a business card, but, I think with the type it will work better as a postcard.

In thinks t-shirts can be one of the most powerful tools to share information, express an opinion, advertise, claim a statement, or cause a reaction. They can also simply be fun, funny, or a great design. After looking through threadless.com, two t-shirts particularly stood out to me. The first one (My career plans where much more exciting when I was five), is very simple, straightforward, easy readability, and when I looked at it I laughed, in like the scary, thats so true-almost uncomfortable laugh...And then the second one I just wanted to keep looking at. I think it was a combo of how much space the picture took up on the tshirt, the actual image, and the color of the image.
