This may be the cheesy answer to which some were referring, but for me art is an outlet through which we can express emotion that we would not be able to express in any other form. In other words, I believe that in life we do not have the ability to always express everything we are feeling. Therefore, art is a form of expression sometimes used when words alone will not do. I used the word sometimes, because art can also be simple and not intended to be some large expression of deep emotion. For example, a simple photograph of a flower could be art simply because the viewer believes it to be. Therefore, art is at the discretion of the viewer. Lastly, I just had a few short responses to this question that I wanted to share: Art is fun. Art is objective. Art is reflection. Art defines community and the individual. Art creates community.
