I was looking at other people's posts, and thinking about what originality in art meant to me, and I was thinking about replications of famous original works of art. Someone posted Vincent Van Gogh's Starry Night and that has been reproduced countless times. You can buy a framed replica, a poster, etc. of that same work of art. What changes about the piece when it's not the original? What happens when its not even the same medium? How does Van Gogh's original compare to a poster of that same image he produced? If you can't see the paint, if you can't feel it, does it loose meaning or the ability to affect the viewer?
