Hannah M: 16th Century Art

This fresco, entitled by Bathsheba Goes to King David is by Italian painter Cecchino del Salvaiti. I like the use of perspective and depth that image creates with the winding staircase. I also appreciate the lightness and color, which contrasts to the darker paintings of most other Renaissance artists.
I think the figures are intereting here too, the artist creates depth and space in their bodies through use of shadow and folds in the cloth.
I also like the story in the painting - without the title I would have no idea what exactly is going on here, but am very curious to know what is going in the painting. Is Bathsheba the women in the peach colored dress at the bottom of the stairs? Who is in the window?
The fresco is at Palazzo Sachetti in Rome, built by architect Antonio Sangallo in 1542.
