I decided to copy James Rosenquist's painting Necktie from 1960. I decided to use blue pastel in order to add a new element to the composition. I wanted to try and emulate the shading technique that he employs with a different color scale. In grayscale, the darker colors just fade to black--in blue, I was able to explore the different nuances of the color scale and shading.
