This picture was done by the late renaissance artist Mariotto. The painting makes use of perspective lines, but I find the perspective to be very awkward. The framing seems uncomfortable and looking through the middle archway, this painting seems almost unintentionally "Escher"-like. The various lines, including those on the roofs and music stand seem "incorrect", and I think this may be a reflection more on that the rules of perspective were not immediately widely mastered. This artist may not have been playing with perspective so much as he may not have known how to perfectly portray such an piece.
