Kaleigh- Giotto

I chose the artist Giotto and his painting "Pentecost". In this image he uses the pillars in order to generate space. They are clearly in the front of the picture, with the people behind. He also layers the people at the table, with 5 sitting in front of the other 7. I feel as though he does this very effectively because in some cases entire faces are hidden by the pillars which truly represents the space in between. Finally, he uses the rays in the back round to create depth in this painting.
