Neel Odedara - Paolo Uccello and the Linear Perspective

Paolo Uccello was an Italian Renaissance artist known for his work with linear perspective. It is said he would often stay up all night trying to grasp exact vanishing point on his works. He used perspective to create a feeling of depth, as exemplified by his painting "Miracle of the Desecrated Host (Scene 2)." In this painting, uses the vanishing point to convince the viewer of the shape of the room, and obscures part of the room. He uses shading and the tile pattern to create dimensions and convey depth. In this way, he is able to bring the scene to life.
