Kat -- Da Vinci and Perspective

An obvious example of one-point perspective in Renaissance painting. The vanishing point is at the center of the painting, which draws the eye into the image. The figures are layered over one another to add additional depth. The only flaw is not in perspective but in the realism of the composition--why are all of the figures seated on one side of the table?
